Our Purpose
The goal of our ministry is simple, but basic and essential to help those who are less fortunate and often food insecure: feed the hungry.
Who We Support
St. Joseph Parish volunteers provide a hot, healthy meal to children and adults who come to the Wilhelmina Gill Multi-Service Center in Kansas City, Ks. For some, it is their only meal of the day. Many are homeless. Some just need a little help. Our parish prepares and serves over 300 meals on our service day.
Volunteer Opportunities
Our day to serve is the third Wednesday of each month. Our menu consists of Sloppy Joes or Chili, coleslaw, half a ham sandwich, a fruit cup, cake or pie, juice, water and/or coffee.
Parishioners are encouraged to volunteer in two ways:
- Donate the food that will be used to prepare a nourishing lunch for 300+ individuals.
- Come to the Service Center on the third Wednesday of the month and help us prepare and serve lunch between 9:30 and 1:00pm.
